Horticulture Training Program
GROW Glen Eira is an exciting and innovative All Abilities Horticulture Training program for young people with a disability seeking open employment in horticulture.
Glen Eira City Council has initiated this project as part of developing A Community for All Abilities and Kevin Heinze Grow is delivering this project.
Each year, a small number of participants will undertake a customised hands-on horticulture training program. Under the guidance of the Coordinator of Therapeutic Horticulture, participants will complete paid work placements through Glen Eira City Council’s Park Services in Caulfield South, KHG’s nurseries in Doncaster and Coburg or Rippon Lea Estate gardens in Elsternwick.
GROW Glen Eira participants are paid full Award wages.
Following the completion of the program, participants will be supported in their journey to find employment or volunteering opportunities within the horticulture industry in their community.
The program is open to young people with a disability and/or those experiencing symptoms of mental ill health aged 15-35 years old living in the City of Glen Eira* who have an interest in horticulture.

Hear from our previous participants
“The Grow Glen Eira program was able to support Max to build skills, experience, and confidence. Max has now begun his Gardening job and is loving it, coming home chatty and enthusiastic every day. I am sure his time at Kevin Heinze was essential to him getting this opportunity.”
