Join us for the sixth seminar in our Online Series: The GROW Model – Slowing Down, Mindfulness and Pace of Delivery
Our online seminar series continues with a focus on Slowing Down, Mindfulness and Pace of Delivery—a critical yet often underestimated component of Therapeutic Horticulture practice. Like our previous seminars, each session in this series stands alone, allowing you to join based on your interests and professional development needs.
In a garden setting, it’s easy to become task-driven—focusing on ticking off jobs and completing projects within a timeframe. But in Therapeutic Horticulture, the process is often more important than the product. When the pace becomes too fast, we risk overlooking rich opportunities for connection, learning, and therapeutic outcomes.
At Kevin Heinze Grow, while we care for thriving gardens and busy nurseries, our priority remains centered on participant experience and engagement. So what does it really mean to “slow down”? And how do mindfulness and pace of delivery translate into everyday practice?
In this seminar, we’ll explore what mindful gardening looks like in a therapeutic context. We’ll share real-life examples from Kevin Heinze Grow programs and provide practical strategies for bringing a therapeutic pace into your own sessions—without compromising productivity.
What You’ll Gain from This Seminar:
✅ An understanding of why slowing down matters in Therapeutic Horticulture
✅ Practical techniques to embed mindfulness in gardening activities
✅ Insights into managing group pace while meeting both therapeutic and horticultural needs
✅ Real-world examples from Kevin Heinze Grow programs
