The Kevin Heinze Grow Autumn Fair is back on the 25th of March and we’re looking forward welcoming the community on site. The day will feature a huge plant sale with a large range of beautiful perennials, annuals, grasses, herbs, vegetables, and trees. At out Doncaster site there will also be a coffee cart, raffle, cake stall and site tours.

To help ensure that Kevin Heinze Grow events are accessible to the whole community, we’ve prepared this accessibility fact sheet to help you prepare for events at both our sites. If you have any questions or need assistance on the day, please ask a Kevin Heinze Grow staff member. All Kevin Heinze Grow staff members will be wearing a purple polo shirt so it will be easy to find them. They will be able to assist you to find appropriate support on the day. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the site accessibility prior to the day, please get in contact with our friendly client services team who will be able to assist (03) 9848 3695

Doncaster

Parking
Parking is available on site. There are two designated disabled car parks close to the nursery entrance.

Signage
There is consistent signage across the site. Please ask a KHG staff-member (they will be wearing a purple KHG polo shirt) if you require support. Communication boards will also be available at the point of sale at the nurseries. Signs around the site are not presented in Braille.

Toilets
We have toilets available which are accessible by ramp and can accommodate a wheelchair but there are no hoists.

Wheelchair access

Main site- The entrance to the main site building is wheelchair friendly with a ramp leading to the front entrance. The garden paths around the site are mainly wheelchair friendly, however the ground can be uneven at some sections.

Nursery- The entrance to the nursery and point of sale are both wheelchair accessible. The walkways in between the rows of plants are not wide enough for a wheelchair. The surface of the ground in the nursery is gravel, so it is not smooth and can be uneven in some places. If you require assistance, please ask a KHG staff member in a purple polo shirt if you require support.

 Sensory Information
We are expecting the nursery to be busy throughout the day with lots of customers and stock being moved around. There may be noise from people talking but as it is outside it generally doesn’t get too loud. Sometimes we have a band at our events and the music can be loud if you are standing near the band area. Please consider bringing noise-cancelling headphones if this is appropriate for you.
